Phil A. Newton (D.Min., Ph.D.) serves as director of pastoral care for the Pillar Network. He previously served as a lead pastor for 44-years. He has authored several books, including 40 Questions About Pastoral Ministry and Shepherding the Pastor. He regularly contributes to 9Marks Journal and The Gospel Coalition. He and his wife Karen have five children and seven grandchildren. Phil and Karen are members of Midtown Baptist Church, Memphis.
